On July 29, 2026, Serviamus Foundation Inc. (SFI), in partnership with the Diocese of Iligan, successfully turned over a new house to the Latonio family through the SFI Free Housing Program for our members heavily affected by Tropical Depression Basyang. The simple turn-over ceremony was attended by SFI staff led by SFI President Romanito R. Tan. The new house was blessed by Rev. Fr. Andres "Andy" Tampos, Parish Priest of Birhen sa Rosaryo Parish, Tipanoy, Iligan City. Latonio’s Family Story "When the typhoon came, the floodwater rushed in very quickly. We ran to our neighbor's house to stay safe and by around 2:00 a.m., our house was washed away. I cried because we lost everything. I was not worried about our belongings or even our house. What worried me the most were my child’s important documents because my child was about to finish her master's degree. A few days later and during our center meeting, our BDS told us that SFI would provide assistance. At first, we thought it would be financial assistance, but we were surprised and happy when we told that SFI would provide housing materials. With God's grace, my daughter's support, and the housing materials from SFI, we were able to build our home again. We are deeply thankful to SFI! We never expected such a blessing. When we thought we had lost everything, SFI reminded us that there is always hope. Today, we have a house that we can finally call home again.” The story of the Latonio family reminds us that even after life's hardest storms, hope can rise again. A home is more than a roof over our heads. It is a place where families can feel safe, heal, and start over. Together with our partners and supporters, we will continue to bring hope—one home, one family, and one community at a time.

On June 18, 2026, the new house of the Mepanga family was officially turned over through the SFI Free Housing Program in partnership with the Diocese of Iligan. The family's previous home was among those destroyed by Tropical Depression Basyang, leaving them in need of safe and secure shelter. The turnover ceremony was attended by SFI staff led by SFI President Romanito Tan and together with the Mepanga family. The new house was blessed by Rev. Fr. Jodel T. Ramos, a member of the SFI Board of Trustees, marking a new beginning for the family. During the interview with the family, they became emotional as they recalled what happened during the storm. "When Tropical Depression Basyang came, we were so afraid. We ran as fast as we could to saves ourselves and to escape the whirlwind. By God's grace, we survived, but our house was completely washed away. Nothing was left. We lost our home, our belongings, and even our livelihood" ''We are very thankful to Serviamus for helping us during this difficult time. We lost our home and our source of income because of Tropical Depression Basyang. We felt hopeless, but Serviamus stood by us and help us build a new house. Now, we have a safe place to live and a chance to rebuild our livelihood and our future. "Thank you Serviamus for giving us hope and helping our family to start again." The turnover of the new house marks a new beginning for the Mepanga family. Through the support of Serviamus Foundation Incorporated and the Diocese of Iligan, the family has been given hope and a safe place to call home.

On May 28, 2026, Serviamus Foundation Inc. (SFI), in partnership with the Diocese of Iligan, successfully turned over a housing unit to one of our member-beneficiary affected by Tropical Depression Basyang under the SFI Free Housing Program. The turnover ceremony was attended by SFI President Romanito Tan, SMBA General Manager Felix Tampus, Area Manager Edelyn Baguio, Iligan North-Branch BDO Marry Ann Bojos, and the Marketing Department staff. The event was also highlighted by a house blessing officiated by Rev. Fr. Jodel T. Ramos, one of members of the SFI Board of Trustees. More than a structure, the new home symbolizes hope, security, and a fresh start for a family rebuilding after the devastation brought by the storm. Through this initiative, SFI continues its commitment to uplifting lives and helping families recover with dignity. As one family begins a new chapter, we are reminded that even in the aftermath of life's greatest challenges, hope can be restored and brighter tomorrows can be built together. SFI extends its sincere gratitude to all partners, and individuals who contributed to making this meaningful project possible.
